Can bamboo survive Chicago's harsh weather? - bamboo fans programs
Personally, I'm a fan of bamboo, and like the idea of bamboo in my garden (though) I never buy a house.
I was curious to know what kind of conditions in order to survive the bamboo? I live in Chicago, we have followed in hot summers and wet winters with cold snow. The bamboo can survive these conditions out, or die?
Thank you!

Of course there are some varieties that are resistant to Windy City.
I never imagined.
Yes there is. Chicago is a zone 5, which means that on average, no more cold winters at -20

Ove bamboo can be a building site into a pot and put a pan on the floor.
Do not let the pot because the soil is warm and the air is not in Chicago. Roots need warmth to the planting soil is the best
From what I hear that many species survive Scud missile.
You're in luck. There are manufacturers of bamboo that grow in cold climates. If you have a booth at the end of the term, they are a sound of bells when snow or heavy frost on the leaves. However, you must be very quiet to hear, and at night.
